Calling all students with great project ideas for improving your local communities! Win $500 in scholarship and $1,000 to fund your project. All proposals must be submitted by February 24th, 2021. Online polling will contribute to each contestant’s final score and will take place March 1st-5th. Winner will be selected and notified by March 8th, 2021.


Once a contestant is selected and notified, the student will need to provide a list of expenses to Sole Food, Inc. Project funding of $1,000 will be submitted directly to vendors. The $500 scholarship will be submitted directly to the selected student at the same time payment is made to vendors.  Eligibility requirements and application instructions are listed below:


  • Open to students ages 12-18 who are residents of Washington DC, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York

  • Create a 30-90 second YouTube video introducing yourself, explaining how your idea will work and describing its positive impact on the community. Videos that do not include this information will not be considered.

  • The following information will be needed to complete the application

    - Pdf document of one letter of recommendation from a teacher or faculty member from your school

    - Link to YouTube video detailing your idea

    - Parent/guardian contact information for students under age 18. Guardian will be contacted to confirm authorization for student participation. Entries without this information will not be accepted.
